Reverend Clarence H. Jones Jr. has had the privilege of serving as of Wesley A. M. E. Zion Church for 6 years. Pastor Jones has been married to Mrs. Taira C. Jones for 26 yrs.
Reverend Jones accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in October of 1998. He received his call into the ministry in October of 1999 and preached his initial sermon on October 21, 2001.
Reverend Jones is a 1984 graduate of Independence High School (Charlotte NC) and a 2007 graduate of Queen City Bible College, B.A. (Charlotte, NC)
Reverend Jones was ordained into the Gospel Ministry on February 15, 2009 and ordained an Elder in the A.M.E. Zion Church on March 17, 2018.
Reverend Jones served as pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church from June 2008 thru April 2015. Reverend Jones served as an Associate Minister of Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church from May 2015 until 2019. In June of 2019 Reverend Jones was assigned as the pastor of Wesley A. M. E. Zion Church.
Wesley's History
Wesley AME Zion Church was organized by Bishop Darryl B. Starnes, Sr. in 2006. Bishop Starnes was elected to the office of Bishop in The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in the year 2008. Upon Bishop Starnes's elevation to bishop, Reverend Wanda A. Cuthbertson was appointed to serve the Wesley congregation. Reverend Cuthbertson served faithfully until 2019. In June of 2019 Reverend Clarence H. Jones Jr. began serving the Wesley AME Zion Church congregation. Pastor Jones is the third pastor to serve the Wesley congregation. Many of the founding member are still serving in the Wesley AME Zion Church faithfully. (Mr. William Johnson, Rev. Alicia Starnes, Rev.
