✨ Praise Café Exclusive: The Transformational Leadership of Rev. Dr. Derrill A. Blue ✨
Walking Boldly in Purpose, Power, and God’s Call
At The Praise Café Network, we are honored to celebrate leaders who not only preach the Word but live it daily through integrity, service, and vision. Rev. Dr. Derrill A. Blue is one of those leaders. A man deeply rooted in faith, scholarship, and community, Dr. Blue exemplifies what it means to be called, chosen, and committed to God’s divine assignment.
A Journey Marked by Purpose
Born and raised in Broadway, North Carolina, Dr. Blue is the son of Jerry and Gail Quick. He graduated from Lee Senior High School and went on to earn degrees in Business Management from North Carolina A&T State University and Organizational Leadership from the University of Memphis. His hunger for spiritual depth led him to pursue his Master of Divinity at Saint Paul School of Theology in Oklahoma City and, in 2024, he earned his Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Leadership from Boston University—a powerful reminder that God continues to elevate those who seek Him.
He preached his first sermon on June 9, 2002, and stepped into pastoral ministry at just 23 years old. Since then, his preaching, teaching, and leadership have left an unforgettable mark on congregations across North Carolina, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Connecticut, and New York.
A Shepherd to the People
Dr. Blue’s ministry journey has included appointments across the nation, including his time as pastor of Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Rochester, NY and as Presiding Elder of the Rochester-Syracuse District. Today, he serves faithfully as the Pastor of Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina—a place where his leadership, heart, and prophetic voice continue to ignite spiritual growth and community transformation.
At every stop, Dr. Blue brings more than a sermon—he brings strategy, spirit, and a shepherd’s heart.
Leadership Beyond the Pulpit
While many know him for his powerful preaching, Dr. Blue’s gifts extend far beyond the pulpit. With a professional background in banking and higher education, he has become a respected voice in assessment and accreditation. He currently serves as a Cultural Ambassador to the Yale Clinical Research Program and is an adjunct professor at Northeastern Seminary—bringing a Kingdom mindset to academic and healthcare spaces alike.
Dr. Blue’s leadership reminds us that ministry is not just a Sunday calling—it’s a daily walk.
A Ministry That Moves Mountains
Whether he’s guiding a congregation, mentoring the next generation, or representing faith in the public square, Dr. Blue moves with clarity, compassion, and courage. His life is a reflection of Kingdom service in action.
“It’s not just his title—it’s his testimony. His steps are ordered, his voice is anointed, and his mission is clear.”— The Praise Café Network
We are proud to call Rev. Dr. Derrill A. Blue a Praise Café Exclusive, and we thank God for his continued impact on the body of Christ.
